What’s new?
Château des Edelins, my B&B conveniently located in the middle of France, is an ever evolving work in progress. I’m constantly redoing, fixing and renovating. And having loads of fun doing!
It’s not decor only. It’s also in food, service, habits and what ever more. Did you know Nienke makes her own mustard? Is trying to marinate raw olives? Or... Check out my new stuff on this page and come and enjoy!
This room used to be white: white walls, white doors, white shutters, white baseboards (you get the picture). Now it’s red and I gave the headboard paneling a greyish-brown.
And of course, I added new curtains, a rug, loads of matching cushions, lamps, lights, decoration...
...a completely new feeling. This is my favorite (for now ;-).
In this spacious room I’ve not only repainted the walls, I’ve also put on a (I think) superbe wallpaper that gives it this Art Nouveau feeling.
And with a new wallpaper, comes matching new accessoires, like those golden velvet cushions and a copper side table.

Le Château des Edelins et ses Chambres d’Hôtes, situé au centre de la France, est en constante évolution. Je refais, décore et rénove constamment et avec plaisir !

This room has dark blue walls all over and that works just fine with all the white woodworks. Although, I’ve recently added some black in a very mat finish and that did spiced it up!
Art is a really important part of life, so I’m happy to have finally put some stuff I like on our entrance hall wall.
A recently re-painted part of our hall: the dark green goes well with the original paint (1890!) of the bars of the stairs.
The chair once belonged to my great-grandparents.
Loads of squirrels are, normally, to be found in the garden.
